This was made for TV and it shows. The effects have of course aged terribly and even with the budget they were operating with it still looks pretty bad. Only two of the original actors from the Addams family and the Addams family Values remain and that is Lurch and Thing. In order to make up for the loss of some of the others they have enlisted an all-star cast as supporting actors and Daryl Hanna does her best to pull off Morticia. Unfortunately she is upstaged in every single scene by Tim Curry as Gomez Addams. He has a manic energy that is fantastic for this part and I am certain that previous actors of the part would have wholly approved of his take on this role. As an Addams family movie it isn't great. As a movie overall it isn't any much better but this week we lost Tim Curry and I am happy to see him at his manic best in this movie, 28 years old at this point.
The Addams Family goes on a search for their relatives. Gomez and Morticia are horrified to discover that Grandpa and Grandma Addams have a disease that is slowly turning them "normal". The only chance they have of a cure is to find a family member hoping that they know a home remedy.
